In February 2020, Ofsted inspectors visited Hamsey Green Primary. They spent two days observing every aspect of the school. The inspectors judged Hamsey Green Primary to be good in all areas. This includes quality of education and behaviour and attitudes. Personal development leadership and management and early years provision were also judged as good.
Inspectors noted the overwhelming support from parents. Children reported that there was no bullying due to the school’s emphasis on kind words and actions. Safeguarding is effective and a clear priority.
The curriculum at Hamsey Green Primary is ambitious and broad. Teachers expect the best from pupils. As a result pupils are eager to do well. School leaders governors and trustees work effectively to improve the quality of education.
Early reading and phonics are a priority at Hamsey Green Primary School. Staff are well-trained. They quickly support pupils who need additional help. The school offers exciting activities to develop language literacy and mathematical skills.
Hamsey Green Primary caters to children aged 2 to 11. The school has a capacity of 420 pupils. Currently there are 384 pupils.
