Hall School Wimbledon’s story began in 1991. Timothy Hobbs, a former Headmaster, founded it. Initially, there were only nine pupils.

Hall School Wimbledon now accepts students aged 4 to 18. Currently, it only has pupils aged 9 to 18 which is Year 5 to Upper Sixth. The Junior School was once in Putney Vale. Now, it shares the same Wimbledon location as the Senior School. This is at 17 The Downs.

In September 2018, Chatsworth Schools acquired Hall School Wimbledon. Today, Andrew Hammond is the Headmaster. Hall School Wimbledon admits pupils with varied academic abilities. The Headmaster interviews applicants but children are not assessed for entry.

One complaint involved a daughter receiving an A instead of an A+ on a spelling test. Another concerned the placement of a son’s water bottle. The school asked the couple to withdraw their children. The judge described the parents as “foolish, overbearing, and demanding”. He emphasized that schools should focus on educating children collectively.

Despite this unusual case, Hall School Wimbledon has produced notable alumni. Alex Corbisiero played Rugby Union for London Irish and England. Jamie Treays is a well-known musician. Hall School Wimbledon continues to thrive. It emphasizes inclusivity and individual development. It has a capacity of 600 pupils, with 227 currently enrolled. The school’s open date was August 30, 1991. Mr. David Bradbury is the Headteacher. Hall School Wimbledon remains committed to providing a nurturing and enriching education.
