It’s a vital artery through Bremen’s Walle, Gröpelingen, and Häfen districts. The name Hafenrandstraße translates to “Harbor Edge Street,” a fitting title considering its proximity to Bremen’s bustling port. The Hafenrandstraße is comprised of Hans-Böckler-Straße, Nordstraße, Bremerhavener Straße, Werftstraße, Stapelfeldtstraße, and Beim Industriehafen. This collection of streets, each with its own history, has been woven together to create this important route. It’s a two-lane road in both directions. The Hafenrandstraße came into being through the expansion of existing streets and new construction connecting Stapelfeldtstraße and Beim Industriehafen. The road has seen its share of wear and tear. In 2018, sections of the Hafenrandstraße underwent much-needed repairs. Just a year later, in 2019, parts of the Hafenrandstraße were temporarily closed for further roadwork.
