The school stands proudly on Iron Mill Lane in Crayford, a vibrant community in the London Borough of Bexley. In 2009, the academy opened its doors, replacing the old Barnes Cray Primary School.

Over the years, the academy has undergone transformations; in 2013, the Slade Green Junior School merged with Crayford Academy, expanding its reach to younger students. However, in 2019, the primary school provision was formally split, giving birth to two new primary schools: Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Temple Grove and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Slade Green Temple Grove.
