The Guru Nanak Sikh Academy journey began in 1993. It started as a private school called Guru Nanak Sikh College. Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji founded it. The institution later split. It formed Guru Nanak Sikh Primary School and Guru Nanak Sikh Secondary School. In 1999, both schools joined the state-maintained sector. The secondary school became an academy in 2010. The primary school joined in 2012. This formed the all-through Guru Nanak Sikh Academy. It operates within the Guru Nanak Sikh Multi Academy Trust.
Named after Guru Nanak the academy embodies his teachings. Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism. He was the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. His principles guide the school’s ethos and curriculum.
Guru Nanak Sikh Academy offers a comprehensive education. It takes pupils through all Key Stages. Students complete GCSE examinations in Year 11. The sixth form offers a range of A Levels and BTECs. This ensures students have diverse academic pathways.
The school’s facilities have expanded over the years. In 2009 Guru Nanak Sikh School was extended. The location within London’s Green Belt presented unique challenges. The London Borough of Hillingdon and the Mayor of London carefully evaluated the project.
Ofsted’s 2023 inspection highlighted several strengths. Behaviour and attitudes were deemed “Outstanding”. The quality of education personal development leadership and management and early years provision and sixth form provision were all graded as “Good”. This reflects the academy’s commitment to excellence.
Today Guru Nanak Sikh Academy accommodates 1560 pupils. This exceeds its capacity of 1500. The academy remains a popular choice for families in the area. Mr. Jaskamal Sidhu serves as the principal.
