Ever wondered what it’s like to experience Victoria’s wildest theme park? Gumbuya World is the only theme park in Victoria. It boasts water slides, rollercoasters, rides, shows and wildlife all in one place.
Welcome to Gumbuya World. This place originally started as a pheasant farm in 1978. Later, it transformed into a wildlife park. In 2016, a group of investors bought Gumbuya Park. They wanted to create an even better theme park experience.
At Gumbuya World, you can feel the rush on thrilling rides. You can also cool off in the expansive water attractions. If you prefer, you can immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. You will encounter wildlife from koalas to kangaroos.
Let’s explore the different zones within Gumbuya World. First, there’s Oasis Springs. When it’s hot, you can splash down on eight twisted waterslides. Alternatively, you can drift along the 300-meter lazy river.
Next up is Oz Adventure. This zone will get your adrenaline pumping. Ride Project Zero and the suspended rollercoaster TNT. These attractions turn the wild up to extreme.
For the little ones, there’s Outback Explorers. It has fun activities for even the smallest explorers. You can find rides just the right size for kids.
Finally, there’s the Wildlife Trail. Here, you can connect with your wild side. You will see native and endangered Australian animals.
Gumbuya World is more than just rides and slides. It’s also a place to connect with nature. The park is home to 52 species of animals in a bushland setting. You can see dingoes, lizards, crocodiles, koalas, aviaries and wallabies. There is also a petting zoo.
Gumbuya World also offers unique shows and experiences. You can catch the free flight bird show at the Wild Arena. Also, don’t forget to snap a selfie with Gumbo, the resident mascot.
The Dreaming experience begins in the Land & Animals Zone. This is located within the Wildlife Trail. From there, you’ll make your way back to the Gumbuya Gathering Zone. Next, head into the Fire & Water Zone, located in the water park. At the end of the Fire & Water Zone, you’ll find the Theme Park Zone.
The park has three rollercoasters. Project Zero is a skyloop coaster with a high thrill level. TNT is a suspended family coaster with a moderate thrill level. The Mining Race Coaster is a fun-for-all coaster also with a moderate thrill level.
If you get hungry, Gumbuya World has you covered. You can try tasty treats from the food trucks. There’s Ink-Credible Calamari, churros and potato twists. You can also grab traditional theme park favorites at Rocksprings Café. They offer footlong Dingo Dogs, pizzas, hot chips and more.
Before we leave Gumbuya World, consider the stories behind the Dreaming experience. The Talking Trees share wisdom from ancient gums and eucalypts. The Cave of Dreams echoes with the whispers of Gurangatch. The Bogong Moth Story tells of transformation. The Dream Forest features Wirri, the kangaroo with a spirit to fly.
Remember the Emu Promises. Write your own promise to the emu and float it down the river.
Gumbuya World is a place where you can brave thrilling rides. You can also encounter cuddly koalas. It’s a place where you can create lasting memories. So, come and get a wild life.
