Have you ever noticed the distinctive fin slicing through Makati’s skyline? That, my friends, is the GT Tower International. It stands tall at Ayala Avenue and H.V. Dela Costa Street, a proud testament to the vision of George Ty, whose initials grace its name. GT Tower International officially opened its doors in 2001. But its formal inauguration didn’t occur until 2004. This skyscraper boasts 47 floors above ground, reaching a height of 217 meters. That makes it currently the 16th tallest building in the Philippines and Metro Manila. The tower houses offices within its sleek, glass and cornflower blue facade. Below ground, five basement levels provide ample parking. The design is a collaboration between GF & Partners Architects, Gozar Planners Philippines, and the internationally acclaimed Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. This gives it a unique architectural footprint. The building is more than just steel and glass. It is also about the vision of its developer, Federal Land, Inc., the real estate arm of the Metrobank Group. The crowning glory of GT Tower International is its 10-story vertical fin. This not only sets it apart in Makati’s skyline but also acts as a striking visual signature. Its location at the corner of Ayala Avenue and H.V. Dela Costa Street places it right in the heart of Makati’s bustling business district. Interestingly, it stands close to the headquarters of BDO, a rival bank to Metrobank, owned by George Ty. From here, you can easily reach other significant buildings in Makati, including the PBCom Tower. Public transport along Ayala Avenue makes GT Tower International easily accessible, placing it at the center of the city’s vibrant energy.
