Established on the site of the old Watsonia Technical School Greensborough Secondary College has a rich history. The college was formed in 1990. This was a merger of Watsonia High School and Watsonia Technical School. Initially the high school housed senior students. The larger technical school building became the junior campus. In 1992 the high school campus closed. Greensborough Secondary College then became simply Greensborough College.

Today Greensborough College thrives. It’s a co-educational government secondary school. It caters for around 450 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The college’s catchment area is broad. It includes Greensborough Watsonia Montmorency St Helena Mill Park South Morang and Doreen. In fact the college now accepts enrollments from all over Melbourne.

Greensborough College offers a comprehensive curriculum. Year 7 8 and 9 students follow the Victorian Curriculum. Older students can choose between the VCE and VCAL pathways. The college boasts a wide range of subjects. These include English mathematics science physical education humanities and pastoral care. Students also explore music STEM drama studio arts and technology subjects.

Significant upgrades have transformed the college campus. Stage 2 of a modernization project was recently completed. This involved building a new administration block science block and learning areas. A new library and a central plaza enhance the learning environment. Funding for these upgrades came from the Victorian State Budget and totaled millions of dollars.

The college also received funding for a major sporting facilities upgrade. This included a new multi-use sports pavilion. A new Australian Rules football and cricket oval was also built. There is a new soccer pitch a running track and electronic scoreboards. These improvements were partly funded by the North East Link Project. These improvements are used by the school. They may also be available to the community after school hours.
