The suburb’s creation wasn’t accidental. The Office of Geographic Names gazetted it. This happened on February 9 2017. It followed a proposal for eleven new suburbs by the City of Melton. The name was expected to officially take effect in mid-2017.
At the 2021 census Grangefields recorded a population of 132. It might be small but it is growing.
Grangefields is set to become a master-planned community. This will form part of the Melton PSP. Once fully developed it will span 350 hectares across four key precincts. The area will offer diverse residential opportunities. These include a mix of housing and town homes.
3L Alliance is working with key stakeholders to shape the Melton PSP. Grangefields is a big part of this plan. The focus is on quality outcomes for future residents. This means early amenities like lush parklands. Well-appointed playgrounds are also planned.
