“Morning, sunshine! Ready for another day of learning?” a cheerful voice would call out from the steps of Grange Park Preparatory School. You might hear this on any given weekday, as children aged 3 to 11 make their way into this charming institution. Grange Park Preparatory School, founded in 1924, holds a special place in the heart of the Grange Park community. The school has occupied the same site on The Chine since its founding by sisters Mary and Louie Billings. Imagine these two devoted educators, nurturing young minds within these very walls for over three decades before retiring in 1955. Today, Grange Park Preparatory School carries forward that legacy, buzzing with the energy of young learners in its two buildings. The original house now hosts the upper years, their library, and the computer suite. Meanwhile, the lower school, a later addition, houses the younger students, the hall where assemblies and events take place, and a library dedicated to their younger minds. This division allows each age group to learn and grow in a space tailored to them, fostering a sense of belonging and community within Grange Park Preparatory School.
