The association managing the mosque, Ennour, approached the newly elected mayor in 2014 with their wish to purchase the land. Understanding their desire for a permanent home and recognizing their commitment to openness and dialogue, the mayor agreed. Through collective effort and fundraising, Ennour raised 500,000 euros, securing ownership in 2017. The Grande Mosquée de Gennevilliers, with its two prayer halls accommodating 2,500 people each, is a place where diverse Muslim communities come together.
