A church built on faith and perseverance. That’s the story of GPIB Ora Et Labora. Located in BSD City this church is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a testament to unwavering devotion. For thirteen years the congregation moved from place to place. They sought a permanent home for their worship. Finally in 2022 their dream was realized. The GPIB Ora Et Labora opened its doors in a new building.
The mayor of South Tangerang himself attended the grand opening. He signed a commemorative plaque. He cut the ribbon alongside the church’s pastor. The building itself is impressive. The congregation purchased four two-story buildings. They are side by side forming a large complex. The location is perfect. There’s plenty of parking space. It’s even next to land owned by the South Tangerang government. The mayor gave his blessing for its use.
Other dignitaries attended too. There was the Commander of the 052/Wijayakrama Military Resort. The Tangerang Selatan Police Chief was present. Representatives from the Ministry of Religion and the local council came. Even the Head of the Forum for Religious Harmony attended. The event was a symbol of religious harmony.
Pastor Salmon A J Bawole spoke of the church’s strategic location. It’s amidst fourteen other GPIB churches. It’s also in a busy business area. Pastor Bawole hopes the church can serve the community. The congregation’s motto Ora et Labora means pray and work. It reflects their commitment to combining faith and action. This reflects their belief in working for their faith and praying in their work. They see this as their core belief. The church was established on September 6 2009. It was originally part of the GPIB Kinasih congregation. The GPIB Ora Et Labora stands as a beacon of faith. It is a place of prayer. It shows the power of community and perseverance.
