Have you ever heard of a church that packed up and moved? Gladstone Park Lutheran Church did just that. Not once, but twice! Founded in 1936, this church wasn’t content with staying put. Gladstone Park Lutheran Church first held services at 5810 W. Higgins. But in 1939, they decided to shake things up and moved to 5928 W. Foster. Sadly, this church, much like many others, faced a decline in membership. In 1998, Gladstone Park Lutheran Church made the difficult decision to merge with seven other congregations to form United in Faith. This new church continued the legacy of service and community that Gladstone Park Lutheran Church had embodied for over six decades. This act of coming together reflects the ever-evolving landscape of faith and community in Chicago.
