Is it possible to find God in a warm fellowship? Here at GKI Cinere, many say it is. GKI Cinere Jakarta stands as a testament to faith. It embodies community spirit in the heart of Depok.

Let’s step back in time. The story of GKI Cinere began humbly. It started with Sunday school services for children at Sekolah Permata Bunda Cinere. This ministry was specifically for students of that school. The official opening was on March 6, 1988. Majelis Jemaat GKI Pondok Indah led the opening.

As more Christians settled in Cinere, the need for a dedicated place of worship grew. In mid-1989, leaders from GKI Bintaro, GKI Kebayoran Baru, and GKI Pondok Indah met. They agreed that GKI Pondok Indah would spearhead the ministry in Cinere. The other two congregations pledged their support.

On September 29, 1991, Bakal Jemaat Cinere was formed. It was located on Jl. Cinere Raya 12 Blok M Cinere. The space could accommodate around 160 people. As attendance increased, services were held three times every Sunday starting April 4, 1993. The congregation yearned for a permanent place of worship. They prayed fervently for it.

By November 2, 1995, the congregation had matured significantly. Majelis Jemaat GKI Pondok Indah recognized this growth. They officially established GKI Cinere Jakarta.

Their prayers were answered. GKI Cinere found a permanent home on Jl. Lereng Indah Kav 5 Blok P, Cinere. The congregation also welcomed a pastor. Pdt. Agus Wijanto joined them from GKI Purwareja Klampok.

Today, GKI Cinere continues to serve its community. It offers various services. These include general worship, children’s services, youth programs, and more. You can find GKI Cinere at Jl. Lereng Indah Blok P Kav. 5, Limo, Sawangan, Cinere, Kota Depok. The church is accessible. It provides wheelchair-friendly entrances and parking.
