Pastor Paris Lewis knew this place. Giving in Grace at Soul’s Harbor wasn’t just a church. It was a homecoming. She had ridden the old SOUL’S HARBOR bus ministry as a child in north Minneapolis. Years later, her husband Bishop Reginald Lewis would become the Senior Pastor of Giving in Grace at Soul’s Harbor. The church itself had a rich history. It started as Calvary Temple in 1946, founded by Rev. Gordy and Irene Peterson. They began with a small group in a former synagogue. The church grew, even utilizing spaces like the Lyceum Theater and Nicollet Hotel for worship. In 1984, they moved to their current location on Minnetonka Boulevard. After a series of leadership changes and even a merger with Giving in Grace Christian Center, the church found its new name, a tribute to its past and a beacon for its future. Pastor Paris Lewis’s journey was woven into the very fabric of Giving in Grace at Soul’s Harbor. It was a testament to faith, growth, and the enduring power of community.
