“This cave feels cooler than outside” someone whispered. You might hear this quite often here at the Geyikbayırı Mağarası. The Geyikbayırı Cave is completely dry in the summer months but exhibits active features from time to time. In rainy seasons, the floor of the cave can be flooded. The temperature inside is cooler than in the open air. The cave is located in Geyikbayırı Village. It’s about 26 km from Antalya in the Konyaaltı district. A short five-minute walk from the village entrance will bring you here. While the cave is free of charge some studies have been carried out in recent years to bring it to tourism. The Geyikbayırı Mağarası has a total length of 120 meters. The deepest point is 6.5 meters below the entrance. Inside you’ll witness an intriguing spectacle. Stalactites and stalagmites create fascinating formations. But the wonders of Geyikbayırı extend beyond the cave. The area is a world-class rock climbing paradise. With 1300 climbing routes, it’s the largest rock climbing region in Turkey. It is indeed one of the most important climbing centers in Europe and the world.
