Established in 1986 the Gereja Pantekosta Kharismatika di Indonesia GPKdI stands as a testament to faith. It began with Daniel O Kusnadi’s calling to ministry. After graduating from Bible school in 1968 he served a church in Tangerang. By 1970 he felt a strong urge to start his own church. He founded one in Batu Ceper now GPKdI Gajah Mada. In 1980 he pioneered another in Bojong Indah Cengkareng. From 1981 to 1983 he pursued a Master of Theology in Florida USA. His wife Hetty Luwita and other workers continued his ministry during his absence. Upon his return God moved him to establish a new organization. This organization became the GPKdI in 1986. He served as the first Synod Chairman from 1986 to 2002. During his leadership the GPKdI held three major conferences. These were in Jakarta in 1993 Cisarua Bogor in 1996 and Tahuna North Sulawesi in 2000.
The Gereja Pantekosta Kharismatika di Indonesia GPKdI’s impact extends far beyond Jakarta. Its reach now spans seventeen provinces. It includes Banten West Java Central Java East Java Yogyakarta Riau Islands Bangka Belitung Lampung West Kalimantan East Kalimantan Central Kalimantan South Kalimantan North Sulawesi South Sulawesi Maluku North Maluku and Papua. The GPKdI is an interdenominational unity of local churches. It maintains an interdependent relationship with its member churches. Today the GPKdI boasts 89 local churches across the Indonesian archipelago. This demonstrates a significant growth and expansion since its humble beginnings.
