“Ever rooted, ever growing, ever bearing fruit.” That’s the motto that encapsulates the spirit of Gereja Kristus Rahmani Indonesia Jemaat II.

Welcome. I’m excited to share the story of this church with you today. Gereja Kristus Rahmani Indonesia Jemaat II is more than just a building. It is a living testament to faith. It’s a community. It’s a journey of spiritual growth.

The story of Gereja Kristus Rahmani Indonesia is a rich tapestry. Its origins trace back to 1971. Pdt Prof DR S.J. Sutjiono started the church. The first worship service was held December 12 1971 in West Jakarta. That date marks the church’s founding.

GKRI’s vision emphasizes love prayer witness and outreach. These pillars guide the church’s mission. They inspire its members to serve God. They encourage members to serve their community.

One pivotal moment in GKRI’s history occurred between October 3-6 1985. Coordinators from Jakarta Yogyakarta Central Java Lampung and East Java gathered. They formed the Sinode GKRI. This marked a significant step in the church’s development.

GKRI expanded its reach. It embraced churches beyond Jakarta. It included churches in West Java Central Java East Java Yogyakarta South Sumatra and West Kalimantan. There was even a church in Hong Kong.

GKRI became a member of the Persekutuan Gereja-Gereja di Indonesia. It is also a member of the Persekutuan Gereja-Gereja dan Lembaga-Lembaga Injili Indonesia.

Gereja Kristus Rahmani Indonesia Jemaat Diaspora Copylas began as a service post. It came from GKRI Jemaat Diaspora Cinere. Pdt Timotius Asmoro pastored it then. Abuna K.A.M. Jusuf Roni a pioneer of GKRI “Diaspora” assigned Pdt Timotius Asmoro. He was assigned to start a ministry in Joglo West Jakarta.

Pdt Timotius Asmoro initiated the ministry. He formed family cell groups with a discipleship system. That’s why Pdt Timotius Asmoro set the vision for GKRIDC. It was “Making Souls Disciples for Christ”. It was based on Matthew 28:19. Meanwhile GKRIDC’s mission was taken from Colossians 2:7-8. It was “Rooted—Growing—Bearing Fruit.”

Children’s services also started in North Petukangan. Several congregations and early GKRIDC workers initially served. The children’s ministry produced young souls. These souls helped develop the GKRIDC ministry. At that time it was still a “Service Post.”

The first service was held on July 9 2000. It was held at the Copylas Complex Shop No. 5. Now it is Maisonette Shop Joglo. The Setiawan Jogan Family lent this shop. The year 2000 was then designated as the year GKRIDC was born. The name “Diaspora Copylas” came from the name of the shop complex.

Over time God continued to increase the number of congregational souls at this Service Post. The congregation came from areas around the shop. They came from North Petukangan Joglo Meruya Kreo and surrounding areas.

On July 10 2003 this Service Post became a church. It was named GKRI Jemaat Diaspora Copylas. The Central Assembly of the Synod MPS GKRI did this. It was through Decree Number 112/SK-MPS-GKRI/VII/’03. It was about “Increasing the Status of GKRI Diaspora Copylas Service Post to GKRI Diaspora Jemaat Copylas within the GKRI Synod Container”. Pdt Soep Soegiardjo signed this decree. He was the Daily Chairman of the MPS GKRI. Pdt Moranda Girsang signed it as General Secretary. Meanwhile Pdt Timotius Asmoro was ordained as Pastor. July 10 was designated as GKRIDC’s anniversary.

The place of worship then moved. It moved from Shop No. 5 to Shop No. 22 in the same complex. It was based on a rental system.

On May 6 2018 GKRIDC’s place of worship moved again. It moved to Shop No. 42. This was based on a five-year loan agreement with the Nicholas Purnama Family.

Today Gereja Kristus Rahmani Indonesia Jemaat II continues to thrive. It serves as a beacon of hope. It’s a center for spiritual growth. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith. Its story is one of vision perseverance and community. It is a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
