This desire birthed “Hosana Praise & Worship” on August 13, 1993, within the walls of Philipus Tristanto’s home. Gereja Bethel Indonesia Filemon’s roots trace back to this humble prayer group. Initially, they moved from house to house, carrying their faith like a flickering flame. By November 1993, this flame found a more permanent home at Cipinang Elok I Blok B No. 57, thanks to the generosity of the Winarso Suryadi family. Every Saturday evening, the house resonated with their worship. Gereja Bethel Indonesia Filemon’s journey wasn’t without its organizational challenges. At first, the group lacked formal structure, operating as a team coordinated by Philipus Tristanto. As the congregation grew, the need for official leadership arose. In January 1994, a significant partnership formed between the prayer group and GBI Ebenhaezer in Jakarta, solidifying their place within the larger GBI organization. This alliance, fostered by Pastor W.B. Gerungan, provided a supportive framework for the burgeoning Gereja Bethel Indonesia Filemon. Though the initial vision came from the youth, Gereja Bethel Indonesia Filemon’s embrace extended to people of all ages. Its mission transcended generational boundaries, welcoming anyone seeking spiritual growth and connection. The church became a testament to the unifying power of faith, a diverse tapestry woven together by shared belief.
