The memorial specifically commemorates 22 railway employees who perished during an air raid on August 9, 1944. The names include Wilhelm Bindner, Konrad Bock, Josef Bugger, Otto Frank, and Thomas Gensheimer. Also remembered are Friedrich Glinzig, August Greif, Erwin Herbold, Franz Hornung, and Mathilde Jooß.
