Rising majestically before us stands the Galleria Corporate Center. Its sleek glass and steel reflect the vibrant energy of Ortigas Center. This isn’t just a collection of office towers. It’s a piece of Manila’s dynamic history.

The Galleria Corporate Center is part of a larger complex. This includes the iconic Robinsons Galleria mall. It’s the flagship mall of Robinsons Malls. Opened in 1990 it was the first to use the Galleria name. The mall and the corporate center are landmarks along EDSA and Ortigas Avenue.

But the story of Galleria Corporate Center begins long before 1990. The land was once open. It was owned by the SSS. Then in February 1986 this very spot witnessed a pivotal moment in Philippine history. Participants in the People Power Revolution protested here. Tanks heading north were stopped. This peaceful revolution changed the course of the nation.

John Gokongwei Jr a prominent Filipino businessman purchased a significant portion of the land in 1987. Construction of the Galleria Corporate Center began in mid-1988. It was completed by late 1989. The development transformed what was once vacant land into a thriving business hub.

The Galleria Corporate Center itself is more than just office space. It houses several hotels including the Holiday Inn Manila Galleria and Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria. These hotels offer luxurious accommodations. They are popular with both business travelers and tourists.

The complex also includes the DFA Consular Office NCR-Central. This is a central passport office of the Department of Foreign Affairs. It opened in September 2012. It provides essential services to Filipinos and foreigners alike.

The Galleria Corporate Center has also faced challenges. In 2012 a robbery resulted in tragedy. In 2013 a fire broke out in the Robinsons Galleria. These incidents underscored the importance of security and safety measures. The center has since undergone renovations and improvements.

Over the years Galleria Corporate Center has grown and evolved. It has become a symbol of Manila’s economic growth and its resilience. It’s a testament to the vision of John Gokongwei Jr and Robinsons Land. It’s a place where business thrives and history unfolds. As we stand here today. We see a symbol of Manila’s progress. A testament to its vibrant spirit.
