Doesn’t the name Galerie Onil sound like a place brimming with artistic vision? Here at Hamburger Straße 7 in Bremen, Galerie Onil has been a beacon for international art since November 2003. It was founded by the artist couple Neeharika Donau-Hossain and Onil Hossain.

Imagine stepping inside. You find yourself in a 100 square meter space. The gallery’s design is fresh and inviting. Galerie Onil isn’t just a space. It is a platform for cultural exchange. It is a place where artists from around the globe converge.

Onil Hossain and Neeharika Donau Hossain are artists themselves. They understand the need for a space. A space where international artists can showcase their work. They wanted to foster connections across cultures.

The Galerie Onil focuses on painting, sculpture, and photography. The space is designed to showcase each piece with the respect it deserves. Large windows face the main street. These nine-meter-long windows draw in passersby. These windows ensure that art lovers and casual observers alike notice the exhibitions.

Galerie Onil hosts a Women Art Competition. This competition awards outstanding female artists in painting, graphics, digital art, and sculpture. Winning this award can be a launchpad for an artist’s career. The quality and originality of submitted artworks are highly valued.

The first prize is a solo exhibition for two weeks at Galerie Onil in Bremen. The second prize is a trio exhibition. The third prize is a group exhibition. Ten top artists get a group exhibition at Rathaus Achim for four weeks. All nominees receive a certificate and are mentioned in the online catalog.

Looking ahead, Galerie Onil has a diverse program of exhibitions. In December 2024 they presented the X-Mas Exhibition 2024. Artists included Anke Wunderlich and Gabriele Stelea. Laeth Al Bayati also exhibited.

In early 2025, a group exhibition featured Wunderlich, Stelea, and Al-Bayati again. Neeharika Donau Hossain and Onil Hossain also participated, along with Saswati Das. March 2025 will celebrate Women’s Day with a special vernissage. Later in March, a trio exhibition will follow. April 2025 brings an exhibition called DREAMS. May will host two trio exhibitions. One features Claudia Grötschel, Kornelia Mauernböck, and Michael Kaphengst.

Galerie Onil is more than just a gallery. It is a vibrant hub. It is a place for artistic dialogue. It is a testament to the power of art. It offers a space where creativity knows no borders. It is a celebration of art and culture. It is a place where you can find something new and exciting every time you visit.
