“Stillleben – die siebte Seite des Würfels.” That’s German for still life. It is the seventh side of the cube. Erwin Geiss titled his exhibition so at Galerie Edition Camos. The Galerie Edition Camos focuses mainly on photography and painting. It is located in Munich-Nymphenburg in a beautiful location.
The Galerie Edition Camos program emphasizes contemporary photographic positions. It also highlights abstract and figurative painting. The gallery presents the work of represented artists virtually. It also showcases them specifically in the exhibition rooms.
These “show windows” are a platform for interested viewers. They simultaneously offer space for exhibitions, events, and publications. Galerie Edition Camos invites you to see photographers. Compare their different perceptions and interpretations of various themes. These themes surround the world.
Looking back shows the variety of exhibitions presented at Galerie Edition Camos. Consider “Italien dust” by Nadja Kuznetsova from April to May 2016. Or perhaps Louisa Marie Summer’s “Brazil – up close” from March to April 2016.
Maybe Andreas Perlick’s “Chiaroscuro” from February to March 2015. Uwe Langmann’s photographs pursued a new order of things. His landscapes formed shapes and architectural structures. The realities of nature were reordered. He pursued the traces in our landscape. It revealed its momentary essence. Everything disturbing disappeared. It was all for the beautiful form and accomplished beauty. His exhibition was called “written in water” from October to November 2014.
Erwin Geiss presented new works under the title “Stillleben – die siebte Seite des Würfels” in September-October 2014. His previous work focused on street photography. It also included historical themes. Geiss returned to classical still life painting. It was from the 17th century. The subtle lighting and some motifs were borrowed.
Bernhard von Braun explored “Verführung?!” It means seduction. It was a photography and painting exhibition with Monika Kaiblinger in July-August 2014. The two artists had different art forms and positions. It created tension. Monika Kaiblinger’s pictures are moving and authentic. They express lived life. It shows the cheerful, sensual, and lustful. She is also a feminist artist. She sees female strength in a woman’s attraction and seduction. Her women are only seemingly.
Bettina Lindenberg’s photographs focused on fine details. “Sehen” is her art. It is almost the feeling of a subtle moment. Later, it unfolds its enormous effect in large format. Her exhibition was “Stadt, Land, Fluss” in June-July 2014.
Raimund Feiter presented “Neue Arbeiten / New Works” in May-June 2014. Joseph Beuys asked him where his heart beats. Feiter studied photography. Initially, Feiter’s work was analog black and white photography. Today he works digitally. It opens new possibilities.
Galerie Edition Camos also presented group shows. “Fresh” featured new works by photographers and painters. Maria Maier’s “giving color” combined photography and painting. “Accrochage III” showcased painting and photography.
Corinna Rosteck’s solo exhibition “Bardo” featured painterly and staged photography. Thomas Wunsch’s abstract-expressionist works ventured into gesture. Giulia Marchi’s “Imprevedibile – Unvorhersehbar” means unpredictable. Ryuji Taira’s “Fluffy Platinum” displayed sensitive still lifes.
Sophia Keller’s “Doppelklick” was inspired by Latin American textile culture. Heiko Oehme’s “Ansichten – Absichten” means views intentions. “Accrochage” featured gallery artists. Marvin Entholt’s “Spirit | Spirito” captured New York and Venice.
Raimund Feiter’s “En Passant | Tableaux” combined free art, video, and photography. Bettina Lindenberg’s “In 24 Bildern um die Welt” presented photographic sketches. Sabine Thier’s “Kubanische Stillleben” showcased Cuban still lifes. “Flora” explored the relationship between photography and painting. Karl-Heinz Rothenberger’s “Licht und Schatten” means light and shadows. “… Momente …” presented a range of photographic works. Manuel Giron’s “Abstraktion der Wirklichkeit” means abstraction of reality. Helio Diaz Lorenzo captured “Mallorca”. Daniela Riediger’s “Fernpunkt” displayed Polaroid and analog photographs.
