Amidst the vibrant art scene of Quito, discover the captivating Galerias Rosero. Galerias Rosero stands at the intersection of Avenida Brasil N45-288 and Zamora. This gallery showcases the remarkable work of Carlos Rosero, a prominent Ecuadorian painter. His art has graced exhibitions in Paris, Caracas, Lima, San Juan, and Mexico City. Galerias Rosero is more than just an exhibition space. It’s a hub where art enthusiasts can connect directly with the artist. Carlos Rosero’s journey began in Chone, Manabi, but Quito became his artistic home. He honed his skills at the Colegio Nacional Montufar and later at the Faculty of Architecture, where he studied under the renowned painter Osvaldo Viteri. The Grabas workshop became a crucible for his artistic development, alongside artists like Nelson Román and Jorge Artieda. Rosero’s style is a unique blend of neofigurative expression, revealing the darker aspects of society. His work often portrays marginalized individuals, shedding light on themes of abandonment, injustice, and corruption. In 1984, Rosero’s talent earned him the First Grand Prize at the 1st National Biennial of Drawing in Guayaquil. This was followed by the First Prize in Quito’s “Mariano Aguilera” competition in 1985. He continued to garner recognition, winning the First Prize at the Salón de Julio in Guayaquil in 1986 and ten grand prizes at the First Ibero-American Painting Biennial in Miami in 1990. Galerias Rosero hosted the “Puerta del Viento” exhibition, a collaboration between Carlos Rosero and his son Pablo, showcasing a fusion of painting and audiovisual art. Visit Galerias Rosero and immerse yourself in the captivating world of Carlos Rosero’s art. Experience the power of his neofigurative style and gain a deeper understanding of Ecuadorian art.
