“What’s the hottest theme park in Victoria?” someone asks. I bet the answer is Funfields. This park has grown into one of Victoria’s leading theme parks since opening. Funfields offers something for everyone, no matter their age.

Funfields is located in Whittlesea. It is just north of Melbourne. The park spans 40 acres of beautiful countryside. This makes it a perfect spot for a day of fun. It is also great for parties and corporate events.

Let’s dive into the story of Funfields. The park first opened as Alpine Toboggan Park in 1985. The Alpine Toboggan Slide was its primary attraction. In 2005, it was rebranded as Funfields. Since then, it has steadily improved. Upgrades have been made to the grounds and new attractions added.

Funfields boasts over 24 rides and attractions. These include thrill rides and world-record-setting waterslides. The park is home to three world record ProSlide waterslides. There is the Gravity Wave. It is the world’s biggest, longest, and tallest ProSlide Tornado Wave. Then comes the Kraken Racer. It is the world’s longest ProSlide Kraken Racer. Finally, there is the Typhoon. It is the world’s longest Pro Slide CannonBowl Water Slide.

ProSlide is a leading waterslide builder located in Canada. They installed five of their largest waterslides in the world in Australia. Three of these waterslides are at Funfields.

Funfields also has some unique rides and experiences. The Voodoo is Zamperla’s 360-degree inversion ride. It is the only one of its kind in Australia. The park’s swinging Pirate Ship is the only Huss ship operating in Australia.

Feeling hot? Cool off at Volcano Beach. It’s Victoria’s first outdoor heated wave pool. Launched in December 2018, it holds over 1.5 million litres of heated water. The waves can reach up to one metre high.

Don’t forget classic attractions. The Alpine Toboggan Slide is still a favourite. You can also crash and smash bumper boats at Tiki Bay. For those who like speed, the Thunderdome Go Karts are a must. Little ones will enjoy the Pony Xpress Carousel and Samba Balloon.

Funfields has evolved. It began with a toboggan slide. Now, it is a multifaceted theme park. It offers a wide variety of wet and dry attractions. Remember the name Funfields. This Melbourne theme park offers a great day out.
