Established in 1921 the Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg has a rich history. Initially it consisted of just 13 ungraded classes. These eventually grew into 16 specialized classes for apprentices in various trades. Imagine the changes this school has witnessed over the decades.
The Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg Bonn located on Plittersdorfer Strasse in the heart of a villa district is more than just a school. It’s a hub of educational excellence. It houses the commercial vocational and professional schools of Bonn. Students can pursue a dual education. They can earn their Fachhochschulreife or Fachoberschulreife. The school also offers vocational qualifications for students without apprenticeships.
In 1972 the school was named after Friedrich List. He was a visionary and creative economist. He prioritized civil rights in his political activities. This naming reflects the school’s commitment to social responsibility.
The Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg isn’t just about classrooms and textbooks. It boasts a student-run Fair Cafe. This cafe serves fair-trade goods and snacks. Students from the one and two-year vocational schools use their theoretical knowledge here. They plan purchases sell goods create invoices and market their products. This is practical hands-on learning. They also learn about fair trade structures.
International experience is also important. The school participates in a Leonardo da Vinci mobility project. This provides students with a four-week internship in Brighton England.
