Is that a fire truck I hear? It must be the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mölkau. The Mölkau Volunteer Fire Department has a rich history. It stands ready to protect the community.

Founded in January 1901, the Ortsfeuerwehr Mölkau became part of the Leipzig Fire Department. This happened when Mölkau was incorporated on January 1, 1999. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mölkau is more than just a fire station. It is a vital part of Leipzig’s emergency response network.

Today, the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mölkau handles normal daily tasks. These tasks include hazard prevention. They also have a Wechselladerfahrzeug with a crane. This vehicle transports various roll-off containers to different sites as needed.

The Einsatzleitwagen or command vehicles are stationed here. They belong to the leadership group of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Leipzig. Officers and assistants work in this group. They support local operations during major incidents. They also coordinate responses independently. This is especially important during severe weather.

The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mölkau has a dedicated team. It consists of 30 active members. Nine of them are women. The Jugendfeuerwehr has 26 children and teenagers. The Alters- und Ehrenabteilung includes twelve members.

The Feuerwehrverein Mölkau e.V. supports the fire department. It was founded in 2000 by members of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Leipzig-Mölkau. The association supports the firefighters. It helps with recruiting and public relations at festivals. The association maintains two historical fire engines. These vehicles can even be rented for tours.

The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mölkau responds to about 200 calls each year. The station houses several vehicles. These include a MTW, a HLF 20 and a WLF-Kran. They also have AB Universal and AB Schlauch.

The members are not just firefighters. They are our neighbors. They are ready to respond when needed. They work hard to keep us safe. Remember the dedication of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Mölkau. It is a cornerstone of our community’s safety and well-being.
