In 1928, a spark ignited, not of fire, but of community spirit. This spark led to the founding of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Hartmannsdorf. Eighteen brave souls banded together, dedicating themselves to protecting their neighbors and their homes. Their first equipment? A TS4 fire pump from BMW, proudly pulled by a “Brennabor” vehicle. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Hartmannsdorf became a cornerstone of the community. Fast forward to 2021, a new chapter began. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Hartmannsdorf joined forces with the Knautnaundorf fire brigade. Together, they formed the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Leipzig-Südwest. Both stations, Hartmannsdorf and Knautnaundorf, remained active. They respond jointly with the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Leipzig-Rehbach, ensuring a swift and coordinated response to any emergency. The Erikenstraße station houses the dedicated members of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Hartmannsdorf. They answer approximately 70 calls a year. Their commitment reflects the enduring spirit of 1928. It’s a testament to the power of community and the unwavering dedication of volunteer firefighters. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Hartmannsdorf stands ready. They are a symbol of safety and resilience in the heart of Leipzig.
