Established in 1928 Foreman College and Career Academy formerly Foreman High School stands proudly in Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood. This isn’t just any school. It’s a place where history echoes in the hallways. Foreman’s legacy is intertwined with that of Edwin G Foreman a Chicago banker and civic leader whose name graces the building.
Foreman High School boasts a rich history. It’s a public four-year high school. The Chicago Public Schools district operates it. Its students have achieved remarkable things. Two notable alumni are Rod Blagojevich the former Illinois governor and Peter Francis Geraci a prominent Chicago bankruptcy attorney. Think about that. These men walked these very halls. They learned here. They began their journeys to success here at Foreman High School.
Academics are a cornerstone of Foreman’s identity. However GreatSchools.org rates the school rather low. It only gets a 1 out of 10. This rating considers test scores student progress college readiness and equity. Despite the rating Foreman offers a diverse curriculum. It includes bilingual programs in Spanish and Polish. Foreman also participates in a wide range of sports including cheerleading cross country football soccer volleyball basketball wrestling bowling swimming baseball softball track and water polo.

Students can participate in Running And Sprinting Team Scholastic Achievers Science Club Science Fairs and Spanish Club. Student Council Student Development Team Teaching Assistant and Yearbook are also options.
