Did you know that Flintholm Kirke isn’t just a place of worship? It’s a testament to a community’s desire for tradition in a modern age. Flintholm Kirke stands on Junggreensvej in Frederiksberg. That is a municipality within Copenhagen.

Before this building, a wooden church stood here. Children from Sønderjyllandsskolen attended Christmas services in it. The original wooden Flintholm Kirke held services before 1960.

The current Flintholm Kirke was built in 1960. Paul Staffeldt Matthiesen was the architect. Though built in a modern era, its style reflects Historicism. The community wanted to avoid a modern design.

Inside Flintholm Kirke, light filters through a glass mosaic. Jais Nielsen created this artwork. It illuminates the altar.

The church also features a pulpit and a baptismal font. An organ enhances services. A crucifix reminds all of Christian faith.

FDF F6 Flintholm uses this church as its meeting place. FDF is a Danish scouting organization. They are part of the Frederiksberg Network.

Flintholm Kirke is more than bricks and mortar. It embodies history and community. It continues to serve Frederiksberg.
