Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be Flick, stuck to that freezing flagpole? Well, here you are. Right in front of the Flick Statue, a magnificent bronze statue, capturing the iconic scene from “A Christmas Story”. The statue was commissioned in January 2013 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of “A Christmas Story” and the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority’s own 30th anniversary. It is a beautiful piece of art, capturing the raw, cold terror of that “triple dog dare”. The statue is so lifelike you can almost hear the chilling wind whistling through the flagpole. It stands as a symbol of a timeless holiday classic. It is a must-see for any fan of the movie. The statue is permanently displayed outside the front doors of the Indiana Welcome Center. If you are in Hammond, Indiana, make sure you stop by and get your picture taken with Flick!
