The spirit of community and faith flows strong in this place. Right before you stands the First Baptist Church of Rosemount. This house of worship is a beacon of hope and a pillar of the Rosemount Township community. It all began in 1971 when Dr. Ed Johnson, Jr., with a vision for Christian education, established a school, First Baptist School, with just 31 students. His dream stemmed from a desire to provide children with a Biblical worldview, a counterpoint to the secular humanism he felt was prevalent in public schools at the time. The school thrived. Year after year, new grades were added. By 1976, the first graduating class walked across the stage, marking a significant milestone. First Baptist School has since graduated hundreds of students, all nurtured by the values instilled within the church. And though now independent, the school remains deeply rooted in the church’s mission to educate, train, and prepare students for lives dedicated to God. Today, the First Baptist Church of Rosemount continues to be a thriving hub of spiritual growth and fellowship, a symbol of enduring faith in the heart of Rosemount.
