“What could you do if you could continue to give at this rate?” Imagine that question echoing through the halls of First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary. This church found itself at a crossroads not too long ago.

First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary, a pillar in the community, wasn’t always on solid financial ground. In 2005, this church faced a staggering 6 million dollar debt. It was a challenging time for the congregation. Many families in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district struggled with poverty. Interim pastor Bill Anderson presented a bold solution.

Anderson challenged members of First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary to give above their tithe. He asked them to seek God’s guidance. He told them to ask “Lord is this of you?” Miraculously, within twenty-eight months, the debt was not only cleared but the church had 1.2 million dollars in the bank. Scott Sheppard, a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary, called it a miracle.

This financial turnaround allowed First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary to focus on outreach. In 2008, under pastor John Meador, the church spent over a million dollars on missions. Their giving extended from their local area to China. The church supported the Cooperative Program. This program is a shared funding strategy for Southern Baptist missions. First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary was committed to making a difference.

Seeing the needs in their own backyard, First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary launched 6 Stones Mission Network. This non-profit addresses local needs. It helps people falling between the cracks. The ministry is named for six stones placed on the church campus. Each stone commemorated a million dollars of debt paid off.

6 Stones tackles various issues. These range from housing to food and clothing. It also focuses on job training and spiritual mentoring. First Baptist Church of Euless Missionary redirected 200,000 dollars of its budget to 6 Stones. Volunteers from the church renovated dilapidated homes. They transformed them into habitable spaces.

They also host events like back-to-school outreaches. These provide school supplies and health screenings. The church even supports a ministry called Kids’ Beach Club.
