Before becoming its own suburb Fieldstone was part of Mount Cottrell. The Office of Geographic Names gazetted Fieldstone on February 9 2017. This followed a proposal for eleven new suburbs by the City of Melton. The new name officially started being used in mid-2017. Picture this a brand new suburb springing up.
