Field End Infant School

Nestled amidst the lively community of Ruislip, Field End Infant School has been a beacon of education since 1951. Miss Dix was the first head teacher at Field End Infant School. She welcomed the first eager learners to this brand-new institution. But Field End Infant School’s story is intertwined with that of its older sibling, Field End Primary School. Opened in 1947, the primary school was considered a “wonder school”. It showcased modern architecture and progressive teaching methods. Designed by Mr. Lobb, the primary school featured classrooms with walls of windows. These opened onto outdoor areas. It boasted noiseless corridors, temperature-controlled rooms, and illuminated blackboards. Outside, a playground, grassy areas, and a playing field provided ample space for children to play and explore. Field End Infant School opened on the same site as the primary school. It offered a dedicated learning space for younger children. The school has continued to nurture young minds for decades. It provides a foundation for academic and social growth. Field End Infant School is more than just bricks and mortar. It is a place where kindness, respect, and community spirit are fostered.
