Completed in 1995, the Fengpu Bridge seamlessly connects Minhang District to the north with Fengxian District to the south. This means two lanes in each direction facilitate the movement of goods and people. The bridge’s construction cost a staggering ¥446 million, a price tag reflecting its significant scale and engineering complexity. The Fengpu Bridge spans an impressive 2.2 kilometers (1.4 miles). It stands as a symbol of connection and progress. However, its very success has led to a new challenge: congestion. To alleviate this growing problem, plans are underway for a second bridge to be built east of the current Fengpu Bridge.
