Established in 1984 Femmøller Efterskole stands proudly. It’s more than just a school. It’s a vibrant hub of creativity nestled in the beautiful Femmøller. This area near Ebeltoft in Syddjurs Kommune has a rich history. Did you know that until 1790 this region was called Essendrup? The name Femmøller itself originates from five mills. Overmølle Kjerris Mølle Glads Mølle Skovmøllen and Ravns Mølle once stood near the Mølleåen. Only four remain Ravns Mølle sadly burned down in 1688.

Fæmmøller Efterskole occupies a special building. It’s housed in a former grand bathing hotel. Built in 1909 this hotel was one of the first of its kind in Denmark. Imagine the elegance of its early days. Now students fill its halls with laughter and the sounds of creative pursuits.

The school is renowned for its diverse range of subjects. It offers specialized programs in eSport design including drawing and textiles styling encompassing hairdressing cosmetology and makeup artistry and performance areas like e-music rhythmic music and theater. Students aren’t just confined to classrooms. They engage in practical projects and excursions.

The school’s eSport students for example get to experience professional CS:GO matches. They even participate in tournaments. Their styling and design students visit exhibitions across Denmark. Students in the electronic music program even perform at local venues. Fæmmøller Efterskole believes in practical experience complementing classroom learning.

The school’s location further enhances its appeal. It’s right next to the stunning Italian Trail. This hiking trail is part of the larger Mols Bjerge National Park. Three of the four stages of the Mols Bjerge trail itself begin near the school. Imagine students exploring nature while they study. Their learning extends beyond the books. This is what makes Femmøller Efterskole so unique. It’s a place where creativity flourishes in a stunning natural setting. It’s a place that fosters community and individuality all within the embrace of the Mols Bjerge National Park.
