Fellowship of the Hills Church believes in the importance of discipleship. The church helps people grow in their relationship with Christ. This is all an act of worship. The church pursues an intentional strategy. It is based on the prophet Isaiah’s encounter with God. This encounter is described in the sixth chapter of Isaiah.
What does Fellowship of the Hills Church believe? The church believes the Scriptures are true. They are authoritative and sufficient. The church believes there is one true God. This God exists in three distinct persons. These persons are the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Fellowship of the Hills Church believes Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father. He is also co-equal with God the Son. The Holy Spirit dwells in each member of God’s family. He acts as a Helper and Guide. Through the Holy Spirit, a person can find salvation. At the point of salvation, the Holy Spirit comes to live in our bodies. He begins the work of sanctification in us. We will never be sinless in this life. However, the Holy Spirit helps us sin less. He helps us conform to the image of Christ. The works of the flesh begin to fade. The fruit of the Spirit begins to appear. This happens as we allow God’s spirit to lead us. He leads us on a daily basis.
The Bible is God’s written Word. God used a process called inspiration. This means God-breathed. The Word of God is without error and is truth. It tells us who God is. It tells us why He loves us. It tells us what His plans are for us. The Bible is the authority for living our lives. We should live according to God’s will.
The Church is God’s spiritual family. It is made up of those who trust in Jesus. They are His followers. The Church is not a building. It is not one particular group of believers. To belong to the Church is to belong to Jesus. The Bible uses the analogy that Jesus is the Head of the Church. The Church is His body. God wants the Church to gather regularly. They should worship Jesus. They should use their gifts to serve. They should love and encourage each other. They should maintain unity. As members love one another, the world will recognize them. They belong to Jesus. The Church seeks to do the will of God. This includes making and growing followers of Jesus Christ.
