Have you ever felt the weight of history beneath your feet? Right here before you stands Fellowship Bible Church Dallas a testament to faith resilience and growth. Founded in the fall of 1977 by Dr Gene Getz and a dedicated group Fellowship Bible Church began as Park Cities Bible Fellowship. Their first service was held on October 9 1977 in the North Dallas Park Cities area. This wasn’t just the beginning of a church it was the planting of a seed of faith that would blossom into a vibrant community.
The early years weren’t without their challenges. In 1980 the church moved to a new facility on Boedeker Street. Paying off the debt from acquiring this new property tested the congregation’s faith. Yet despite this hurdle the 120-person congregation persevered. They not only survived but thrived in their new home. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s Fellowship Bible Church experienced incredible growth. This led to the purchase and renovation of an office complex. In August 1993 the church officially changed its name to Fellowship Bible Church Dallas.
The church’s journey continued with another significant move. In 2004 they purchased the former United Artists Plaza. The repurposing of this building throughout 2005 culminated in a grand move in March 2006. From this new location on Central Expressway at Park Lane the church’s outreach expanded. They began actively reaching out to the refugee population and other vulnerable groups in nearby Vickery Meadow. Fellowship Bible Church didn’t just occupy a building it became a beacon of hope in the community.
In 2017 the church celebrated its 40th anniversary. Around 3500 people called Fellowship Dallas their church home. This milestone marked a shift in focus. The church began pursuing a new mission calling members to live out their God-given purposes in Christ every day. Today Fellowship Bible Church Dallas stands as a beautiful testament to diversity. Generations cultures ethnicities and life stages converge under one roof. Their commitment to God’s grace sound biblical teaching and authentic community remains steadfast. Their deep desire to proclaim and live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to this day. They remain a living example of faith in action reaching out to Dallas and the world.
