Did you know that the Fellowship Baptist Church in Dallas was once a bustling hub of entertainment? Before its transformation into a place of worship, this building housed a United Artists Theater. Known as the UA Plaza, it opened its doors in 1988. It quickly became a popular spot with eight cinema screens, a bustling game room, and several restaurants. But by 2004, the theater’s story had reached its final act. Fellowship Dallas saw an opportunity to create a different kind of gathering place. They purchased the property, breathing new life into the walls that had witnessed countless movies and memories. The renovations took two years, carefully transforming the space while preserving its history. In 2006, Fellowship Dallas opened its doors in this unexpected location. Today, the church stands as a testament to the power of transformation. It’s a place where the echoes of laughter and the scent of popcorn have been replaced with the music of worship and the spirit of community.
