Ten years ago a small group dreamed. They yearned for Sunday services in Munich’s south. This was the seed of the FeG München-Südwest. It began humbly in a rented community hall in Fürstenried. A small gathering it was. Yet it grew.
The FeG München-Südwest isn’t just any church. It’s a vibrant part of a larger network. Over 500 churches strong the Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden is their family. This group is a public corporation a testament to their standing in society.
The FeG München-Südwest welcomes everyone. Young and old gather to explore their faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible guides their lives. It’s their compass their source of truth. The FeG München-Südwest is a place of growth. They are always happy to welcome new people. Their members contribute their personalities time and talents. Family and community are treasured values. So they meet beyond Sunday services. Small groups and special events build fellowship.
In 2019 a significant change happened. The FeG München-Südwest found a home on Stockdorfer Straße. After renovations in 2020 their space was ready. They can now welcome up to 100 people on Sundays. Their building is more than just a church. It is a place of multiple rooms for all age groups. A multipurpose room is used for seminars and Bible studies during the week. On Sundays it transforms into a parent-child room. Children have their own dedicated spaces for Sunday school. After services a kitchen facilitates coffee and tea time. Monthly meals build relationships.
The church’s finances rely on voluntary donations from members and supporters. Every contribution big or small matters. It’s essential to their work. They receive support from FeG München Mitte their parent church. Yet they value their own local engagement. Donations help them continue their important work in the community.
The FeG München-Südwest is led by Pastor Hans-Martin Wanner. He works with a team. Many members are volunteers. Pastor Wanner is married with three children. He studied theology at FTA Gießen now FTH Gießen. The FeG München-Südwest stands as a testament to faith community and growth in the heart of Munich. It is a beacon of hope and fellowship. A place where dreams take root and flourish.
