Standing in front of Farnborough Primary School, you might think it’s just another school. But there’s more to it than meets the eye. Farnborough Primary School is a cornerstone of the community. It’s actually one of the oldest schools in the Bromley Borough. You can’t see this today, but way back in 1873, children first walked these steps. Can you imagine? They learned in a building very different from the one you see today. It stood on the same hill, but in those days, they were teaching kids between five and thirteen! But for over a hundred years, it was a constant fixture of the Farnborough community. Then, in 1990, the school moved to its current site just a bit further down Starts Hill Road. Today, it still serves the community with a brand new building that stands in stark contrast to the past.
