Fantasy World is more than just a place for fun. It has a story linked to some prominent figures. Amin Sherri a Hezbollah MP is connected to this park. He was sanctioned by the US. Adham Tabaja a leading Hezbollah financier is also linked. Corporate records show Sherri is a founder of Fantasy World. Records also list Tabaja as the majority owner and manager.
The US Department of Treasury stated Sherri and Tabaja continued business. This was despite Tabaja’s designation in 2015 as a financier. The US mentioned they founded a Lebanon based company. They did not name the firm.
Tabaja has direct ties to senior Hezbollah officials. He also has connections to the group’s operational element. This is the Islamic Jihad Organization. In 2015 the US sanctioned one of his companies Al Inmaa Engineering and Contracting. It provided financial support and infrastructure for Hezbollah.
Al Inmaa Engineering and Contracting built Fantasy World in 1999. This information comes from the real estate company’s website. Sherri held a campaign event at Fantasy World restaurant in March 2018. This was before the May elections. He won a seat in Lebanon’s parliament.
The US claims Sherri used his role in Hezbollah to influence decisions. He pressured financial institutions to assist Hezbollah. This limited the impact of US sanctions. Sherri facilitated Tabaja’s access to Lebanese banks. Nasrallah directed him to settle issues related to his designation.
Fantasy World offers fun for everyone. You can buy a booklet of 15 tickets for 15000. Some games cost one ticket. Others cost two or three. Weekdays are less crowded if your kids want to try everything.
One downside is the highway noise nearby. It is noisier than other amusement parks. Yet, the affordable prices and range of activities make it worthwhile. Despite its controversial connections Fantasy World remains a place for families. It offers a space for leisure. It gives children a place to enjoy themselves.
