Amidst Jakarta’s vibrant energy, lies a place where healing and faith intertwine. This is the Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana. The Faculty of Medicine at Krida Wacana Christian University. It stands as a testament to the vision of its founders. They sought to create an institution that would not only nurture skilled medical professionals, but also embody the spirit of Christian service. Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana’s story began not here, but in the Gunung Sahari area. Originally part of Universitas Kristen Djaya, the university’s journey began in 1967. Driven by the dedication of figures like Prof. Dr. J. L. Ch. Abineno and others, this institution emerged from a desire to contribute to Indonesia’s development through Christian higher education. In 1985, the university relocated to Tanjung Duren. This marked a significant step in its growth. Then, in 1991, a crucial transition occurred. The management shifted to the Yayasan Pendidikan Tinggi Kristen Krida Wacana foundation. The name officially changed to Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana in 1992. “Krida” meaning “to work” and “Wacana” meaning “the Word (of God)” symbolize the university’s dedication to serving a higher purpose. The Faculty of Medicine found its permanent home in 2002 at the university’s second campus on Jalan Terusan Arjuna Utara No. 6. This expansion underscores Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana’s commitment to providing quality medical education. The university’s motto, “LEAD to Impact,” reflects its ambition to not only train competent doctors. It also aims to cultivate individuals who strive to make a positive impact on society, guided by their faith. Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana continues to uphold the values of its founders. It provides a space where knowledge, faith, and compassion converge to shape the future of healthcare in Indonesia.
