Beneath Jakarta’s vibrant pulse stands Fakultas Kedokteran Ukrida. It is a beacon of medical education. Let’s discover its story.

Fakultas Kedokteran Ukrida is part of Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana. It is also known as UKRIDA. UKRIDA began as Universitas Kristen Djaja on January 20 1967. This was thanks to leaders of the West Java Indonesian Christian Church. They were supported by Prof. Dr. G.A. Siwabessy and Mrs. Rev. Rumambi-Kolopita.

The university’s management separated from BPK Penabur in 1990. This led to a new foundation: YPTK Krida Wacana. The name changed to Krida Wacana Christian University on February 8 1992. It still uses the acronym UKRIDA.

“Krida” means to create. “Wacana” means the Word of God. Thus, Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana means a university that works for the Word of God.

Initially, teaching occurred at Gunung Sahari Campus. In 1985, activities moved to Campus I Tanjung Duren. UKRIDA expanded by establishing Campus II in 2002. Campus II houses the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences UKRIDA. Campus III followed.

UKRIDA offers various programs. These include Diploma Bachelor Professional and Master programs. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Science offers several options. These are Medical Science Optometry and Nursing. There is also a Medical Doctor profession program.

UKRIDA aims to provide the best for God and the nation. It strives to be a partner for every student. The motto “LEAD to Impact” guides its vision.

The university’s vision is to be nationally and internationally excellent. It is based on Christian values. UKRIDA’s mission involves maintaining a community of faith. It also focuses on providing a conducive and diverse educational environment.

The UKRIDA emblem symbolizes its values. A five-sided shape represents Pancasila. A cross signifies Christianity. A book supporting the cross represents knowledge for God’s glory. Blue is UKRIDA’s color. Yellow represents students. Gears symbolize the bond between UKRIDA and its students. A circle represents unity. A lotus symbolizes science. The elements combine to represent UKRIDA’s founding date.

Many notable alumni have emerged from UKRIDA. These include Julita Procurement Senior Manager at Danone Indonesia. Pui Sudarto Founder & President Director of Pulau Intan also graduated from here. Hartono Assistant Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology is also an alumnus.

Fakultas Kedokteran Ukrida continues to educate future medical professionals. It stands as a testament to faith education and service in Indonesia. It embodies UKRIDA’s commitment to lead to impact.
