“Bringing heaven down to earth” that is the core of the Faith Heritage Christian Church. The church helps people follow Jesus as faithful disciples. It moves them toward God in worship. It encourages community. It inspires mission in the world.
Faith Heritage Christian Church considers the Bible as the Word of God. Therefore the church submits to the authority of the Word. It is interpreted and understood within historic orthodoxy. The Faith Heritage Christian Church is an evangelical church. It affirms the centrality of the gospel of Jesus to all of its faith and practice.
All people have sinned. They have brought death upon themselves. They have distanced themselves from God. On the cross Jesus our Messiah took our sin upon himself. Through his death and resurrection people are reconciled with God. People receive God’s forgiveness and enter into eternal life through simple trust in Jesus.
Faith Heritage Christian Church is elder-led. A board of qualified men and women serve together as elders. They oversee and govern the church. The elders work diligently to provide direction support and stability. The church Elders responsibility is twofold. They shepherd and oversee the church.
The elders determine the goals of the church. The senior pastors determine how the goals are accomplished. The elders are responsible for limitations on the means. They establish the linkage processes between the elders and the lead pastors. This holds the lead pastors accountable. The elders are also responsible for shepherding the church.
The heart of a shepherd is intimately concerned with the safety and wellbeing of the church. The Elders gather to pray for the church body and leadership. They also pray for healing for those who are sick. During weekend services Elders visit the children’s wing. They pray for the children and teachers. The Elders support pastors and staff. This includes an annual review of the Lead Pastors. This review evaluates what happened in the life of the church. It also looks at the Lead Pastors’ goals competencies and character as a leader.
God has called the Faith Heritage Christian Church together for a purpose. It is in a unique position to see God do amazing things. God asks people to meet with Him and to worship. He asks people to risk and to trust Him. He asks people to serve and extend the Kingdom of God.
Faith Heritage Christian Church is missional to the core. It sets aside 20% of its budget toward missions. This extends from neighborhoods to the ends of the earth. The church sees racial reconciliation as essential to missions. The ministry of the Word and prayer is foundational. This is like the early church. The church holds to a traditional view of marriage. This is a covenant before God between a man and a woman.
The Faith Heritage Christian Church believes in God the Father almighty. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. The church believes in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. He was born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate. He was crucified died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead.
The Faith Heritage Christian Church believes in the Holy Spirit. It believes in the holy catholic Church. This is the communion of saints. The church believes in the forgiveness of sins. It believes in the resurrection of the body. It believes in the life everlasting. Amen.
