What if I told you about a church born from a merger? Right here in Dallas, stands the Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church. This church has a unique history. It’s a story of two congregations coming together. In August 1968, the Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church came into existence. A few years later, in August 1973, a significant event occurred. The Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church decided to merge with another congregation, the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. This union, agreed upon by members of both churches, resulted in the birth of the Evening Star Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor G. E. Edwards from St. Matthews M.B.C. presided over the merger ceremony in September 1973, marking a new chapter for the church. This union wasn’t just about a new name; it was about the unification of two communities under a shared faith. The Evening Star Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church stands as a testament to the power of unity and shared faith.
