Before Evangel Assembly of God Church even existed, there were three different German missions on the Northside of Chicago. These missions, located on Otto Street, Howe Street, and Belmont Avenue, served a community hungry for the Pentecostal experience. In the fall of 1925, the “Spirit-filled believers” from these missions came together to construct a house of worship. This building, located at 1941 West Belmont, became known as Belmont Gospel Church. As attendance at Belmont Gospel Church grew, so did the need for more space. The congregation purchased and renovated the building next door, creating Sunday School facilities and a Fellowship Hall. Then, in 1975, Belmont Gospel Church acquired the properties at 5100-5110 West Diversey Avenue. This move marked a new chapter in their history and a new name: Evangel Assembly of God Church. Over the years, Evangel Assembly of God Church continued to grow and evolve. In 2005, to better reflect their outreach efforts, the church changed its name to Evangel World Outreach Center. This change signified their commitment to spreading the Gospel both locally and globally. Finally, in 2014, Evangel World Outreach Center purchased the Bethesda Christian Center building on Fullerton Avenue. The two congregations merged, and Evangel Assembly of God Church was reborn as Resurrected Life Church International. This latest iteration of the church stands as a testament to its enduring legacy of faith, service, and community.
