What if I told you Esenyurt was once primarily agricultural land? Now, it is a bustling district of Istanbul. Esenyurt is located on the European side of Turkey. It has transformed dramatically over the years.

Esenyurt is a district within the Istanbul Province. It is part of the city’s metropolitan municipality. Since 1989, Esenyurt has been its own municipality. Its history is rooted in the 19th century. The land was mainly owned by Ekrem Ömer Paşa. The name Esenyurt comes from one of the landowners, Eşkinoz.

Between 1920 and 1938, migration occurred from Romania and Bulgaria. More recently, people moved from Ardahan and Kars. People also came from Erzurum and Artvin. This diverse population has shaped Esenyurt.

Today, Esenyurt is known for new properties. These properties are more affordable than in central Istanbul. This has attracted many residents and investors. The district is also home to several universities. Istanbul Esenyurt University is one of the most popular. Other nearby universities include Beykent and Fatih. Istanbul Arel and Istanbul Gelişim Universities are also close.

Esenyurt offers a variety of attractions and facilities. Shopping centers like Eskule, Torium, and Akbatı AVM are popular. Families enjoy Recep Tayyip Erdogan Park. The park features sports clubs, restaurants, and a Turkish bath. There is even a swimming pool.

The Esenyurt Culture and Arts Center is a landmark. It has modern architecture. Inside, you will find cinema halls, a conference hall, and a cafeteria. There is also a library. Other cultural centers include Saadetdere, Yenikent, and Yunus Balta.

One unique attraction is the Pelit Chocolate Museum. It is located next to the Pelit Chocolate Factory. The museum showcases the history of chocolate-making. You can see chocolate sculptures of Hagia Sophia and Galata Tower. There is even a chocolate village. More than three tons of chocolate were used to create the museum.

Esenyurt is well-connected to other Istanbul areas. These areas include Beylikduzu, Buyukcekmece and Avcilar. Esenyurt is expected to attract transportation investments near the D100 and TEM highways.

Esenyurt continues to evolve. It blends residential comfort with cultural richness. It offers a unique Istanbul experience. It is a place where history meets modern life. So, as you explore Esenyurt, remember its journey. It has transformed from agricultural land to a vibrant urban center.
