Opened in 2014, Escuela 264, right here in the barrio of 3 de Abril, stands as a testament to the power of community and the promise of a brighter future. Before this building, the children of the six housing cooperatives here had limited access to quality education. The old Escuela 264 simply couldn’t meet the needs of this growing community. But the residents, educators, and the government came together, united by a shared vision. Imagine the determination driving the project. A $1.7 million investment, a public-private partnership, meticulous planning, and construction led to this: a beacon of hope in the form of a modern school. Today, Escuela 264 is more than just a building. It’s a place where 153 children thrive in a full-time learning environment. Inside, classrooms are filled with the sounds of laughter and learning.
